    php or htm

I have an existing site that is ranking fairly well. I have recently installed a rotation script that uses js. However not every body can view this and I therefore have a problem . I can use the rotation in php but this means all new php pages which will not rank.
If I run existing pages in htm (using js) and duplicate pages in php is it likely that I will get penalized, Or can I wait until the php pages rank and then delete the htm pages. (By the nature of the website many pages are already similiar)
Also the php pages seem quicker is this probable and are there any diadvantages in php.

If you have access to your .htaccess just use the ForceType directive to force .htm files to be parsed as PHP, then you can just add the needed code into the existing pages and not have to "reinvent" your wheel.

Thankyou that sounds like that would have been the way to go however I have not got access. So if you can advise on the original question that would be very helpful
