    Pages dropping from index

last week i had about 480 pages indexed, now day by day they get less and less.. now i've got about 310.. and my google traffic has halved. (not that i get much as am in sandbox)
any ideas why my pages are falling out of the index?

The reasons that might be considered can be, adding too many links overnight, not adding new content for some time and in some other cases it might be just something else entirely.

In some cases after a few days everything will return back to the normal.

Take a look at your page titles ... might be too much duplication.

    Results 1 - 10 of about 309
In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 45 already displayed.
If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included.

rtchr, did what you were suppose to do... Now you know.
Originality of content is very important.
If you are dealing with product pages then it is really hard.

Based on your response I assume your in England.

Besides the good advice earlier (duplicate content), you might also consider that if your in England, hosted in the US on a .com, Google is weighting these types of pages differently now, unfortunately less not more.

I've seen this happening on a several dozen sites.

i am on a .co.uk and hosted in uk, google is re-indexing my pages it was just a blip, am at 466 now. However i have changed about 30% of the title tags, but am now reluctant to upload the changes as my pages are being re-indexed, what if it does more harm than good. None of my title tags were identical, a lot of them started with the name of the site and then had the name of the game, is this really bad? how i have changed them is by just using the name of the game with maybe one or two keywords, is this better? it will mean that not all of my main keywords are in all my pages, is this a problem? looking at my competition a lot of them use there site title in there title tags...

Title - Unique and accurately reflects what the searcher will find on the page
Description - Unique and accurately reflects what the page is about (you need to do much better than this - #Free Online Games Player - Free Online Games. Massive Multiplayer Games, sports games, adventure games, and soldat. for every page, a unique description.)

Content - You can and should do better than this: "Description
Very addictive two player mini-golf game where you negotiate obsticles to get the ball in the hole in as few shots as possible. The best flash game I've played."

File structure - improve your site structure and internal linking

External Links - Links going out to sex? phone? photo storage? and you're a game review site. I don't get it.

Images - Create unique images with unique, accurate, alt tags for each page.

Deep link - Google wants to index the most relevant pages. Develop quality relevant deep links to each page you consider important to your site. After your initial link Build for indexing, build your links outwards in.

Given this looks to be an advertising revenue production site, you should invest a bit more time in its quality for any type of long term life cycle.

    Just my opinion.

    thanks

thanks gc haney for the advise, I'm working on the title tags, the description tags will have be on the back burner for a while, the external links you mention are ad engage ads.
Loads of games sites don't have any description at all, it would be great to hire a copywriter to do better than me, even better and what i intend to do is get the players to write reviews.
I would love to know how to improve my site structure and internal linking, any tips here would be most appreciated.
I think i'm doing what you say with regard the images, please correct me if I'm wrong.
I work on the site full time, it's my first site, I've been working on it six months, another 18 months and it will be ok. At least the hosting costs are covered now!
Thanks again, I need as much advice as I can get.
One final point, what i've read time and time again, is to look at what your competition are doing and copy them, that's kind of what I've been doing.
