Arrow Page Ranking - subdomain vs. folder

Lets say I own www.domain.com. I want to put up a bulletin board, but I want to get the best Page Ranking from Google.

Which would be better to have: board.domain.com or www.domain.com/board/

Thank you

Search for subdomain vs folder using the search funtion at the top of the page. This topic has been covered many times. You'll find lots of thoughts on the topic.

subdomain will be helpful you to bring some backlinks from subdomains. google treating subdomains as a different domain name so that you can get backlinks for your original site.

Are you saying that if you run a sub-domain from a parent and link back to the parent that Google will recognize that link the same as a disassociated site that is linking back to you? I hope not.

That's what he said. However, I would like to see evidence of this treatment. Can anyone show us some examples?

If that is what he said he is totally wrong. IMO, it might be a half step above an internal link, but I doubt it.

I don't agree 100% with what you say. In most of the cases, the subdomains will share the IP with the main site, so you can get backlinks, but they are treated like internal BL, or, in every case, they will have less value than a true external link.
