    Talking From OS commerce to part static-part dynamic website for SEO

    I have a site in an old version of oscommerce and for seo and flexibility reasons i would like to make as static as possible. Would it be possible for example to have a page calling some info from the database and at the same time me editing the html on the page and customising it so this way partial information is being from database as preset and partial is being customised by me and probably being saved in the same database or a separate one?
    This way i will be able to optimise the site myself and have a html based website right?

    Well to be honest you have made enough of a mess of it I would get hte OSC upgraded (modifications and all) not just for SEO reasons but security as well. You are in a very unsecure environment and it's just a bad idea.

    Why waste any more time and money on the site when a cracker can bring you to your knees? It happens EVERY DAY. I run one of the better OSC Development tems there is and I can say it for a fact that crackers seek out OSC installs 24/7

    So worry about the stability of the site before anything else really. Then once you've upgraded use the SEF Contr'b.

    Is thre a lot of custom code modification or simply older 3rd party contributions?

    I asked the gang in my Web Dev company and they said you can't start here;
    http://www.oscommerce.info/docs/english/e_upgrading_oscommerce.html

    I hope that's a good start
