    Organic CTR

    Hi,

Is there a way to get organic click through data? If not how am I supposed to know if I should be changing meta descriptions to get increased click through rates?

    Thanks

Hey Plnder...yep, there is a way to get click through data ^_^.
Create a google search console account and you can access the data through "search analytics" in there.
Make sure to export the data monthly, because they only have a 90 day look back window and then the data is gone forever.

    Hope this is helpful

    Hi Pi8nder325,
As Whiterabbit says, click through rates (CTR) data can be accessed via Analytics reports.

The report can be found in the Analytics menu:

Acquisition -> Search Console -> Landing Pages

The trouble with these data are that Analytics reports averages and as a consequence the results are open to very wide interpretation.

    CTR is largely determined by:

    1. The relevance of the page to the search query
    2. A page's ranking in the specific search results - the page ranked #1 should receive around 10-15 times the CTR as the #10 ranked page.
    3. The page's title as displayed in the results (some times modified by Google)
    4. The page's description as displayed in the results (often modified by Google)

Whatever you are trying to do, you are unlikely to make any difference by fiddling with any meta content description.
