Optimizing PHP sites in 2008
Hi,
I have been looking at threads dated 2003-2005 about optimizing a PHP website. I haven't found anything more recent and was wondering if the information is still valid or if there are new techniques I should be aware of. How about the htaccess file, is this still a good idea?♠ Thanks for your help. Seb |

Hi Seb
Have a read of http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2008/09/dynamic-urls-vs-static-urls.html Personally I rewrite all mine and will continue to do so as it makes for much cleaner URLs for my visitors to use and supposedly that's who Google says you should design for...

I did read the above mentioned article: it says that G. can now understand dynamic urls so well it's pointless to try to rewrite them...
Does anyone have any helpful information about this? Seb. |
