Novice Blogger Here!
Hi All,
I've been building and maintaining my blog since an Year now. I write about a SAP product called Xcelsius. There has been a lot of activity on the blog. I was able to convince few consultants who are good at the tool to write for me. There is a lot of content compared to other blogs on the same subject. However, other blogs show up on the first page of Google search, where as mine does not. Not even on 4 or 5 pages. I was wondering if my site is blacklisted or something. Any suggestions would be a great help. Regards, MyXcelsius |

can you show the url? It would depend on the content and the back links you have.

You have posted a few dozen times on a blog that is a few months old. That might not be much duration or depth compared to the competition?
If you want higher rankings you need to go after links. Competition in the search engines is a battle of links. Google does not know who wrote the articles and how good they are. You convince google that the article is great by the number of people who cite your content with a link on their blog or website. If the content is as good as you say it is then you should not have any trouble at all getting a big load of sites to link to it. Lots of the top rankings that I currently hold developed slowly over a year or more. Seldom does a new site shoot to the top of google unless it has a big load of immediate links or a few extremely powerful and relevant links. Rankings are earned through great content, acquisition of links and patience. Just asking here... do you think that your domain is infringing on any trademarks?

I think to have a good blog you need to:
1. Have a lot of quality content(unique, hard to find in other places). 2. Be social. You have to know and be known by people in your niche, that way they will bookmark your posts, will promote them in social media and on their blogs. You can be social being active on forums, commenting on related blog posts in your niche, being active in social media and in blog networks like mybloglog or blogcatalog. Without spamming of course. I think there are many blogs out there with quality content without being socially promoted. And this is why they don't reach the top. I noticed you use mybloglog. But are you really using it to develop relations with other bloggers?

I think, to have a good blog you need to:
-Have a lot of time on your hands. -Write with authority on a subject nobody else writes about, cares about, or cares to write about until magically one day your topic becomes mainstream and you get a sudden burst of traffic. -Use Wordpress -Insert social bookmarking buttons and "subscribe to my rss" everywhere - on every page, after every post, and after every comment. -Link to your "Link to Us" page from your front page, and provide a variety of copy-&-paste links with varied anchor texts in your newly popular niche. -Misspell highly searched terms like "youtube" in your blog titles to read as any of the following: youtub, yourube, yotube, youtubee, etc. -Include pictures, because Google probably has an "A picture is worth a thousand words" snippet in their 500,000,000 part algorithm. -Use nofollow links for all outbound links. Do it manually. -Insert related AdSense ads so you can make 12 cents a month. |

Hello,
myxcelsius I suggest you very simple step... 1. Just check your competitor blog. ( Related to content and information - Are you missing any thing?) 2. Just check link popularity of that blog. ( Simply check back links of that blog - Possibly - That blog was submitted in more reputed websites compare to you.) 3. Just concentrate on fresh and unique data of your blog. ( Because major search engines want unique and fresh data) Best Luck - For Your - Next Work |
