If people are logged into their google account you don't get the search term because of privacy, you get "not provided" instead.

I'm logged into my account all the time. I search for keywords to check ranks and the keywords show up when I click through. So not sure what context you're basing your comment on.
Frankly, I wonder who Frank is and why he has his own adverb.

In google analytics, the keywords people used to find your site (if they're logged into their google account) are shown as "not provided" because of the search being encrypted when logged in.

I know this is old, but I'm seeing more and more of the (Encrypted Search) when looking at my stats. It stops every stat counter/program from reading the search terms or key words even in the GA account (according to others). However Google can see all this information. Another reason I don't use or like their tools even if there free. Another smooth move by Google. These love hate relationships are tough.

Google can't wait to be everyone's ISP, then they'll have all the information data.

well this is true that "not provided" is hurting as you can't judge which keyword has biggest impact over traffic and conversion. however you can still observe landing pages to predict keywords by yourself (not works all the time and won't give you exact figure but it gives you broader view).

Getting ssl worked for time being but it is no longer working as Google started using different ssl than the traditional one.
