No update dates today 2/10/05 What's up google

Just noticed; nothing at all has been updated on google today 2/10/05. Looked at several significant and competitive keyword phrases. I guess we are looking at more flux and more change...or maybe everybody at google is out partying. Meanwhile we have had consistent heavy spidering every day...way beyond our norm...and consistent with on page changes and new bls.

I noticed that too. Seems like the last 2 weeks have been all over the board and today they decided to just freeze yesterdays results. :-?

Googlebot has been visiting my site a lot, but when I go through the log files all I see that Google bot checked is images (.jpg and .gif) not the .html or .asp files. Can someone please explain this to me. Thanks.

I saw plenty of changes across all sorts of keywords. Google's serps change on a daily basis (depending on which datacenter you query too). You're just not going to see major shifts (like the ones that have occured over the past week or so) all the time.

I saw some changes in a bunch of the keywords that I'm watching too. Nothing unusual though.

I DID see YASC (yet another serps change) today, on some DC. Mind you I had to use a dance tool like void.be for that. On a normal G search, my site lost its recent good ranking, but on some DCs it even seems to have climbed a bit further. Just when you thought etc. etc.

Seems like G is still dancing. Whoa - new dance marathon record

I still feel that it will all revert and that some of my new rankings (for instance) will drop back to page 7 or 15 or whatever. Maybe in a couple of days, maybe after the MSN-gone-live buzz wears off... ;)

Sorry all, I meant no DATES. Earlier today there wasn't a single date on any site for any google search I did. Didn't mean serps changes. BUT....a couple of hours later...all sorts of sites have had some recent google updating. It was evidentally a temporary thing.

You got me there... I didn't notice THAT

Fact remains that all sorts of funny stuff keeps happening. G is learning lots of new dancing moves - apparently.

Alternatively showing/hiding dates, titles, stemmed keywords (and what have you) seems to be part of the process. I don't know how these phenomena could be inadvertent symptoms of the changes, but I DO know that they help confuse us SEOers - which should be a nice bonus from Google's point of view
