No Follow Tag
I have an article that I would like to reference for my readers/customers (that is also an article of mine).
I am thinking of adding a "no-follow" tag as I am happy with the Google and other search results to both web sites.
Currently I have the second article (the one I would like to add a convenience link to) with links coming in to the first web page and I prefer to keep as many one way links as possible, especially since the first site (the one I am considering a "no follow" tag to the second) is competing for a tough couple of key words ("UV bulb" and UV bulbs") which I am doing well, but it is a constant battle to stay at the top for these and I do not want to hurt my SEO with this link.
Since I am a bit wordy her, I will try and sum up my question:
(1) Would I be better off adding this link and thus allowing a two link?
(2) Is the "no follow" tag a better way to go (I have read that Google frowns on the use of no-follow tags, but I cannot remember the source of where I read this)
(3) Of coarse the 3rd option is no link at all, but I would like to provide this information to potential customers via this information link.

If the 2nd article is of use to your customers then why not just link to it anyway?
Personally I would just use a normal link - the meaning of the nofollow is that you are telling the search engines that you can not vouch for the content of the page that you are linking to, I take it that this is not the case?

Nofollow is method (introduced in 2005 and supported by multiple search engines) to annotate a link to tell search engines “I can’t or don’t want to vouch for this link.” In Google, nofollow links don’t pass PageRank and don’t pass anchortext - http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/pagerank-sculpting/

This is the concern, as I CAN vouch for the content of this page/site.
However I gues my other problem is circular linking, as I attempt to keep as many on-way links as possible.
So the question is whether to have this now as a two way link or use a no-follow tag.

Personally in this case I would just link naturally to it and not over think it. It is only one link and adding nofollow isn't gonna help you much, in fact it could even possibly look like you are attempting to hoard your pr or sculpt it which is not looked highly upon either.
If the other article is something that will benefit your readers and you can vouch for the link I wouldn't worry about any further.

And this is exactly what I have done and I will not over think it.

What he posted today. Basically do'nt use it on your web site for internal links. Just let page rank flow naturally and improve your navigation.
I have never used nofollow on internal links or on links between my own sites. Why on earth should I tell Google and the other engines that I cannot vouch for the content of one of my other pages ? The only place I would ever use it is on comments on blogs, and these are set so that I have to verify them first anyway.
