So are you saying that you should have a new page for every new keyword you decide to target? What if you are targeting a keyword and decide you want to change it (or add a new one) but already have a page that has the same theme or type of keyword, you suggest creating a new page for it?

Wouldn't that create multiple pages for the same theme and types of keywords?

Personally If the keyword is worth optimizing for I would create a new landing page for it that was obviously well optimized for the term with lots of good content and then build links to that page using the correct anchor text.

You should generally target 1-3 main keywords per page. The more you try to cram in more keywords the harder it will be to slip that keyword into titles, meta tags and on page copy.

Also as its good to place a keyword at the start of the title, H1's and start and end of page it will be harder to achieve when optimizing one page with multiple keywords.

I guess if its more of a long tail term then you may not need to create a specific page for it, but maybe worth it if it is likely to be a well converted term?

The problem with this advice is it is to general. It depends on your market and your competition. Personally My home page targets over 40 combinations of keyword phrases and wins most of them. targeting individual keywords can often lead to missing more longtail keyword phrases. It depends on your target market. It depends on your competition. It depends on your keyword phrases. It depends on your link juice. It depends.... Target what you can win....
