Need Help with Google Rankings!!!
My site has been live for a few months now and we are a yahoo store that sells mens skin care products. The site is heavy into content with a rich use of keywords. Google first ranked us in the low 100's to begin with then shot us out to the high 300's. We are currently in the 250's but are being beaten by irrelevant sites. I'm not sure what we are doing wrong so any help will work... I am considering paying a company to help with the SEO. Please check out the site and tell me if you notice anything that would help! I appreciate it greatly! themetroman.com.

Read the stickies in this forum and some of the articles.
If you have no idea what might be wrong you may indeed be better off with outside help but you will need to know what kinds of questions to ask to find a high quality SEO firm/person to work with. Start by doing some reading though. |

The website was created 3 months ago and it has over 1,100 links. Created on: 11-Mar-09 Expires on: 11-Mar-10 Could it be that Google feels there's an attempt to "manipulate the search engine rankings"? Document inception is a factor but I only have very broad data to support this. (10 year old crappy site ranks for everything) Further, I have no evidence to support this, but many have said you should purchase your domain for more than 1 year. Perhaps if you paid for 5 years it would help a tad. Last edited by KernelPanic : July 2nd, 2009 at 10:26 AM. |

Website 3 months old and huge number of backlinks can be a concern area, saying that I mean the links might have some bad links which are considered to be spam, than only Google may give you a negative, otherwise if someone come up with a very nice information and 1000 people link to you for information, Google will never say you are doing wrong as you are even serving Google motive, i.e. providing right information to people. Just see what type of links you have to understand the story better. Also, I recmmend you should also look towards your website architecture, meta tags, promotional tags are used in right way, internal linking with the pages, content freshness and quality as other causes.... Moreover, a domain registered for a long period, with the IP status (dedicated / shared), server location also matters to your reputation. Just go through all these and let us know if you find something fishy, we can assist you... Vaibhav Last edited by Vaibhav.sem : July 3rd, 2009 at 04:48 AM. |
