Need Comments for this problem

HI Everyone,

I need help regarding this matter..

1. if you do a google search for "<Search Term/Site Name>" the 3rd item is a complaintsboard.com complaint about our company. It wasn't posted by our customers but a group of individuals at one of our competitors.. the problem is that, we tried contacting the website and tried spending about 20 hours to find if they were customers but they aren't customers.
it's a complete fabrication by our competitors to bad-mouth us. we contact from webmaster of the website and the website won't remove it either. they are a 1-man operation and don't rpely to their emails..

2. is there any way to submit this site link to spam directories or do something to make it drop in the ranking?

3. i don't understand why it is higher in the ranking for "<Search Term/Site Name>" than our own websites and content. I've also tried posting on boards and issuing tons of press releases nothing seems to take it down from its position..

Plz help me with your suggestion so that i can get rid off from this issue..

Thank you for reply, but can you suggest what we can do to drop the ranking of that web pages in search engine position? Right now it comes in position 3. Can we do something to make it position 20 or far from our website?

You don't seriously believe that it's possible to force down the ranking of another web page?
...Think about it!

The only way to knock it down 17 places is to get 16 pages to overtake it!

Unless you want to get a lawyer involved and you have already pleaded(respectfully and politely) with the complaints to be removed then there is nothing you can do.

In answer to 3... obviously the complaintsboard has more influence, authority and links than your site cause it is outranking you. And the only way to force it below your site is to build more backlinks.

I recently acquired a domain which is worth anywhere from $5k-10K but it was previously owned by a crooked operation... now I am attempting to get the complaints removed... it is hard to do but without getting a lawyer involved it is the about the best you can really do.

Naveen don't post asking "what should I do" when you are already getting responses... have a little respect.

I see Site Name 1st and 2nd position and complaintsboard.com in #3

Consult with an attorney. A consultation to know where you stand legally will cost no more than a few hundred bucks. Very small price to learn something. Then move on with bigger things if you want.

Whether -ve publicity is by your clients or competitors, you just can sit idle.Review websites are considered very authoritative by google. Use the same tool your competitors used i.e. review websites. Write good reviews about your own products on various popular review websites and that fake complain page will get pushed to 2 or 3rd SERP in no time. Also encourage your satisfied customers to post reviews about your products, so that first few pages for your company name are always occupied by your own good reviews. I will suggest you to develop a separate review website for your market and industry. This can help you a lot in the future to combat with such type of negative publicity.

It is not higher in ranking than your site. And where you distributed your press release. One press release from sites like prweb, prleap can easily outrank that complaint board review in 24 hrs.

Here is a quick fix:
Post a question on Yahoo Answer "should i buy watches from "site name". I read somewhere that they sell fake watches. Is this true", then ask other people from your company to answer that question. Once you get 10/15 good answers and the option to choose best answer, select your best answer. This question will come up in top 10 on google in few hours for your company name. And your problem is solved for the time being (until ur competitor used the same tactic)Any person who will read that fake complain will also read this question.

When you create a thread on Seochat and you name your (or a competitors) website, the thread will rank for that name quite quickly... (If it didn't it wouldn't be the best Seo forum on the web)!

So you should take care to enter "sensitive details" in such a way that they won't be picked up...
(eg: "M/y/w/e/b/s/i/t/e/./c/o/m" - remove slashes)


In addition to that, you made 2 mistakes:
1. Posting 5 or 6 messages asking for the thread to be deleted/edited... one post would have been sufficient!
2. Editing all content out of your posts in the thread (why you received a warning) is not allowed.
All forum members who replied to your posts here have given free time/advice to help you... The resulting information will also serve to help others in a similar situation.

To solve your problem I have edited all posts to remove your site name and I have also reinstated all original posts.
