Navigation Title Tage?

In 1 single element of a navigation, lets call it shoes, why add a title="shoes" in that specific link?

Does it help much in respect to SEO?

Example: <a href="http://www.footwear.com/shoes.html" title="shoes">shoes</a>

I personally don't think it has an impact on rankings - not a substantial one anyway.

When I first started SEO, I paid attention to every minute detail I could possibly think of. As my knowledge grew, I realized that my time would be better spent worrying about the things that really matter - ie, anchor text in links and page TITLE tags etc.

As above, it wont get you to number one in Google so stick to the basics as its really as simple as that.
