Is my SEO knowledge enough for SEO companies ?

I've the rankings below after doing SEO to my website ( you can see my website in my public profile ). My question is : do you think a SEO company can be interested in my SEO knowledge ? My only proof for my SEO knowledge is my SE rankings. I send emails to SEO companies for working with them but usually ( 90% ) I don't get any reply. I just want your opinion....

What do you mean by "competitive" except the number of results ?

If you are good at SEO; why do you need to work for anyone else. Put up a few affiliates sites and you can make a lot of money on your own.

    Hi

The number of results are not important. What is important is how competitive a keyword is. A search of 'green furry widgets' on Google returns 20,000 results - this does not mean that all 20,000 website have information about green furry widgets.

Try using a keyword selector tool to ascertain exactly how many searches have been made for your keywords. A good tool is ://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/

Many SEO companies will want to see results across a broad spectrum of industries plus they will want to see experience of managing PPC. In addition to this, they will want to see good design skills (probably with experience of CSS).

Well done on the results you have achieved.

There is a massive difference between ranking your own site and working on a client site and seo companys know that.

You will think you are gods gift to seo because you can get traffic to your site but that is far removed from a client site.

If you sent me an email telling me what a good seo you were becasue you managed to rank your own hobby site i would probably delete it.

    Organic seo was right

    1) First of all, I 've to say that I don't consider myself an expert but good enough to have opinion about some SEO things and metrics. If you want to present yourself as a SEO expert, many of you think you're, what would you say ? OrganicSEO, Koalaseo, internex, switchseo, I agree with your point but how you present yourselves, if not with rankings and number of results ? Probably you know more than me, I'm just wondering about your approach. How you can persuade people, you're good ?

    2) Another thing, too : Do you mean that bringing traffic and SEO knowledge go together ? If I know how to bring traffic, am I good in SEO ? If I'm good in SEO, I can bring traffic ? I'm just wondering and my opinion is that there aren't so closely related. I can be good in SEO but unable to bring traffic or, in other words, if I can't bring traffic doesn't mean that I'm bad in SEO. Your opinion ?

    thanx in advance...

I have worked for a web development company for a while now, but not in SEO. I work in sales and copy writing. Recently, I have become interested in SEO and have been lurking here and other places as well as practicing and studying. I have just been given my first site to do SEO on, but it is not a client site, it is a site my company owns. If I do well on that then I will get other opportunities, but will not have autonomy on client sites for a long time to come. As with any business, you have to build a solid reputation over time of doing good work within an acceptable time frame. I think you will find that if you start small, and put in the footwork, you will get positive results. Good luck!

    What is your SEO objective?
If you are good in SEO; your site will perform well in SERP's and your traffic will increase.

OrganicSEO, my SEO objective is that bringing traffic to your website and SEO knowledge aren't the same thing. The top search term in my field is "nba" and I'm not high at all, 3 years now nobody found my site by searching this term. On the other hand if you search in Google "pistons basketball stats", I'm #1. Am I good or bad in SEO ?

the term "nba" is way to general. in my humble opinion, it's better to focus on more specific keyphrases te gain traffic...

    jorje29,

If I were a company looking for SEO work done, I'd certanly start by looking for companies listed in the top 10 in G for SEO work. Perhaps working on a site/page which can get in the G's SERPS for SEO phrases could be a better start for you?

Recieving an e-mail out of the blue with sats of how highly you've managed to get a site which deals with info on the nba would not impress me at all tbh. I'd want to see proven results for other sites in different fields you've worked on.

If your confident that you can do this and make money from it - then got for it! Its a very, very competitve industry to get into though.

P.S In awnser to your question though, atm the moment I dont think your SEO knowledge is good enough yet. sorry.

    marcO,

I agree 100% with you in what you say, I've to build a good portfolio with good results for websites in different fields. No question about it but let me ask you : what is proven results for you ( bring traffic ? good rankings in millions of results ? ) and in what you base your opinion that my SEO knowledge is not good enough ? It's a great opportunity for me to know my weaknesses and work on them...

    thanx

First, congratulations on doing a good job with your site.

Now, ask yourself this - and only you can answer - how much did you make per hour while working on this site? Could somebody else pay you SEO wages - by the hour - and still make a profit on their spend within a few months?

There's a quick gauge of your worth.

Now could you duplicate that for electric motors or hydraulic jacks, if you know very little about them to start?
