Multiple Sitemaps?
I have a few wordpress blogs and I have noticed a new couple plugins that do the following
1. Sitemap for images
2. Sitemap for videos
3. Sitemap for mobile.
I already have the regular google wordpress sitemap installed but is it ok to install other sitemaps as well. I am very interested in the mobile sitemap cause my blog is mobile capable. But I want to make sure its ok to have both a mobile sitemap and a regular sitemap and these other sitemap for videos and images... useful?

Its ok to "install" the other sitemaps as well. You can even submit multiple sitemaps of the same kind. It is useful too, for all the benefits for example a video sitemap gives.

I am curious could you give me an example when one would submit multiple site maps of the same kind?

If you are a large video site, lets say daily motion, you canīt fit all your videositemap entries in one sitemap. You can submit multiple sitemaps, or one sitemap with pointers to other sitemaps in it.
The limit on entries in sitemaps is 50000, so every site that is over 50k pages, needs to submit multiple sitemaps of the same kind.

Just a follow up
I have a wordpress plugin that converts my site into a mobile version when it detects a mobile device... is it still ok to put the mobile sitemap up? cause its not like I have another version of my site mobile created, its just this plugin does it for me. was worried it might upset google.
