Multilanguage SEO Tips

Hello everyone!

Were doing alot of multilanguages websites these days and I was wondering what method is better for SEO.

For the moment, were using :
/services/our_services_e.php
and in french :
/services/our_services_f.php

I was told it would be better to use :
/services/our_services.php
and in french :
/fr/services/our_services.php

So each language could have it's own sitemap.xml

I wanted to have your opinion about this issue and if any of you have a better suggestion!

Thanks all !

Depending on the language... why don't you use the french language in the URL vs. /fr/ etc??

The company i work for is global and our site is in 20 different languages. Not all languages are used in specific browser's yet, but French is for sure. Just make sure instead of using accents you use the english letter.

Works for me at least

I meant the French language in the URL.. you mention our_services or something, have it say nos_service or whatever the correct translation is. And maybe instead of having 'our' you should say what the service is about

To tell you the truth, both your approaches to foreign languages are not correct ;)

You need to put all foreign languages on a separate sub-domains and mirror them in to your main English version. Later on, if your foreign versions take off, you can re-point them on local foreign hosts for local search sake.
