Articles have brought steady targeted traffic and the links show in Yahoo when I check the sites.

ezinearticles, article dashboard, articles base, isnare, and buzzle have all been good. I never submit to hundreds of sites, just 5-7 top sites. I put in ezinearticles first then after approved I put elsewhere. If the site is under 30K alexa it is good. Good articles get syndicated.

The other way some people say is very good is to use an article on a related site to get a content linkback. The site owners may be happy for some quality content.

I often add them as a hubpage and sometimes blog.com or vox.com. They show in yahoo for links and drive some traffic on thier own.

I put them in a word doc, add two content links and upload to scribd.com also

then I put them in some free press release sites.

I have hand written each sentence 3 times then spin them all. They all read great since they are written by hand.

I always mix it up and never use one article in all the above. Lots of them show up page one if I have good keywords for titles and the articles in particular drive traffic consistently over time.

I expect some here will consider this taboo or even stupid but I use all original content and it works pretty well.

In my limited experience with sites like ezine, you need to publish the content on your own site first. Anyone who republishes your articles will not get their page ranked, because google will drop those pages from its index. (I have a lot of experience in the area of content aggregation)

The problem with the folks who use your content is that they don't always follow the rules and give you credit and your linkback per the terms. Many of them pirate your stuff... copyright violators.

I think if the end publishers followed the rules, it would be a great plan, but alas, many do not.
