More than Two Site Listings in the serps

This might be a dumb observation, but has anyone else seen cases where a search for a keyword returns more than 3-4 results for a site. I am not talking about sub domains, or different domains, but regular results from say a catalog or subpages of a site. I am looking at a top 10 list now, with 6 of results coming from the same site. I know google will go ahead and restrict listings to two per site which is common knowledge but this is a little odd. Anyone else seen this on particular searches? Possibly those with results under 10,000?

Yes, I guess Google does this when there a few relevant results to a query. Have you seen this on any high traffic keywords Phoenix ?

    Phoenix,
I made the same observation about one week ago in two SERPs I follow.

    http://forums.seochat.com/t8121/s.html

One SERP shows about 140'000 results, the other only 45'000. I suspected a hiccup on G's part.

In the meantime G sorted it out. The site is now again shown with two entries and also back in its old place among the top 10.

Hey requiem, I haven't seen this on any high traffic keywords, the one I saw was a pretty low traffic keyword with 6 results. But I checked it this morning, and its looks likes its fixed with just 2 results like normal.
Hamaki, good point, its seem others have observed it too. However your result set was way more than what I observed. With only 6,750 pages for this particular search.

I observed it today for search engine optimization.

    One site appeared at #10 & #12 (page 1 & 2)
    Another site appeared at #15 and #22 (pages 2 & 3).

Both listings were the same domain root listing with the extra directory description and category info.
