A tool is useless if you don't know how to use its data. If you have knowledge, experience and understand what exactly SEO is then you'll be able to find and fix the problem with your website. Otherwise there is no tool that can make you able to get what you are looking for.

But you can tell if they are inaccurate or not. For example, MajesticSEO gives you a list of links and you can then quite easily find out if they are live or are not live. Though maybe you mean that it may not show all the links?

"What you don't know won't hurt you"... or rather you can't properly make an inform decision if you don't have the right facts.
One reason people think Negative SEO works well... the facts are skrew toward the conclusion the observer wants. "I want my competitor to be at fault, because then, I'm not".
