Listed on Yahoo, but NO WHERE on Google-why?

Exclamation Listed on Yahoo, but NO WHERE on Google-why?
Why would my site appear NO WHERE in Google, even when tying in the full domain name in to the search bar? For some of the key phrases we get top 5 in Yahoo...but absolutely nothing in Google...?!!??! We're based in UK. Domain name live for about 2 1/2 yrs with holding page. Published 15 or so page site to domain about 2 months ago and getting nothing at all in google, yet good stuff in Yahoo. Have worked on another site with similar timescales (and was a newly registered domain name) and getting listed by google fine. HELP......!!!!! I am really confused...! Is anybody aware of any complete NO-NOs that would ban me from Googles listings?

Do you read stickys. They are not on the forum for decoration purpose.

Has it ranked in the past? Is there any pages indexed via the site: command? Have you verified your site & submitted your sitemap via the Google Webmaster tools?

How about writing some noteworthy articles and then doing a sweep of social bookmarking sites in order to promote them.
