Would your page be listed on the same one that ranks for the keyword in question? Important.
Also, be wary of how much you spend. With Google's crackdown on buying links, you may be wasting your money. I suggest trying to get links from the other 18 sites that rank on the first 2 pages for your keyword. Those may last forever, where your bought link could be a bust in the near future. |
Thanks Berg,
Yeah that is what I am weary about. But it's not necessarily a paid link. It is sort of like a small scale JoeAnt.com or Business.com but for Real Estate. Since it's only $20 bucks I would be willing to risk it but before I do I wanted to ask the above question in my first post. that way, atleast the risk is calculated. My strategy would be to obtain a boost for the next few months and by that time my link bait will catch on. I am ranked #11, so just on the second page and the other top 10 are all sites that I am competing with. It's kind of hard to get them to link to you even if you have the coolest tool ever because they don't want to give you their business. So I am sticking with good content.
By the way, THANKS everyone for telling me to build quality content. I got a call today from a guy who called me by finding me on Google to talk about foreclosures. I have an interview with him on Monday and its the Mississippi Public Broadcasting system which I was happy about cuz it wasn't just my town's radio station. Anyway, just wanted to share my good fortune and give some people some reassurance that the things that Berg, EGOL, Gazzahk, Fathom, Europa, and about 10 others are saying, is true. There is no quick fix to become an authoritative site and I still obviously have a long way to go. But as you said Berg, the race to #1 can often be rewarding on your journey there. thanks again berg
