lets all get higher PR rankings

Why dont we all get together in helping each other in getting higher PRrankings and a better stickyness to google by linking to each other providing theres not a direct conflict with with businesses.
This seems like the smartest thing to do as we are all trying to achieve good positions in our chosen field of business This is just a thought and I would appriecate all off your inputs on this line of thinking.

Regards

Julian

link farm?

No, not at all.

Maybe a little farm.

It would be very nice, if some websites like microsoft.com, dmoz.org, macromedia.com, .... will join our nice small farm.

I have also some nice pages with PR between 1 and 3. May I join

Julian..

I don't want my site to be the center of a link farm. Furthermore.. can you please stop posting so many URL's in your signature / messages. If this continues I'll just have to disable them, and that only subtracts from the enjoyment that we can all experience as serious webmasters at this forum.

Firslty lets me say sorry for posting My urls. and secondly the question posed was not intended to be aimed at creating a link farm it was merely intended to ask the other members if it was possible to link PR5's with other pr4's to help them a long in ranking I possibly could have asked the question differently oops, I get crawled by google every three days and the first thing I do with one of my own new sites is link it back and google has never placed a penalty on them it basicly has it ranked on the S/E very quickly without having to wait for the dance, thirdly if you cant have recipricol links ( link farm ) the internet would fall to pieces WWW ( world wide web)
The question that I would like answered then is: does a web development company that has say 800 clients all with there link back and viceversa constitute the centre of a link farm.?

ok, link farming and recripical linking are two different things, recripical linking is good and google uses the links on web pages to navigate the web and to find new sites. but it only goes so far, say your product is dishwashers, your keywords are different types of dishwashers models of dishwashers and so on, linking with a site that sells industrial dishwashers is a good link, linking with a site that sells lawnmowers is link farming here's what i found on link farming...

In theory, the more sites that link to yours, the higher your ranking in the search engine results will be because the more links indicate a higher level of popularity among users of the Internet. However, search engines such as Google consider link farming as a form of spam and have been implementing procedures to banish sites that participate in link farming, so the term link farming has garnered negative connotations across the Internet.

OK then. I have several websites that all sell different things one sells hosting so a link to a webdesign site would be good right.?

So if we all list what we do/sell and PR we can then determine the better sites to link to correct ? thus helping our members and our sites at the same time. Please correct me if I am wrong

well we'll see how this poll comes up, if people are interested in it then we will run another poll, but at the same time it is looking a little (using darrin's words) dodgy...

Believe me I am the first person who doesnt want to get penalised by the GOOG I have been around this industry for a very long time a make too much money from my sites to warrant doing anything unethical, but if there is a better and smarter way of achieving results in the shortest amount of time I will pursue it, and also for the newbies in this field I know how hard it was for me in the begining,if they can get a kick start all the better.

Anyway its 1.30am in the morning here in OZ so I am going to finish some quotes and go to bed.

I thank you for this discussion and will look forward seeing what the results are even if the thread started off in the wrong way.

Darren can you extend my sig box I can only fit 3 URLS in
just kidding

On the surface this would seem correct, but...
Say you have a dishwasher site, and your brother, friend, or associate, has a lawnmower, music, or insurance site.
What do you do then?
Are you saying that you think google will penalize you if you place them on your links page?

I have to disagree with the relevant links a little bit. I *do* believe that relevant links help, but I don't think irrelevant links hurt. I have seen **many** instances of adult webmasters buying expired domains, and linking them to their porn sites. The domains they buy are not porn, but usually some sort of business site. They don't link back to the business site, but usually have good page rank and are listed well.

i'm talking about doing it over and over again, with multiple unrelated sites, i would consider farming, but having a garden and running a commercial farm are two different things

How about you guys all discuss this via. the PM service on this site .. Just incase anyone from Google is watching...

Whilst I wholly disagree with interlinking and farming or all kinds, and believe that sites should achieve their true PR through voluntary links.. I do also believe in having an open forum, which is the only reason I am letting this thread continue!!

Like I said guys .. PM each other if you want to exchange links!!
