Keyword Ranking
One of my client's main business is in Us and we are doing SEO for his site in India..and whn we chk ranking for keywords in india's google.com his site rank well for some important keyword but not in US.. there are some Keywords for which google webmaster tool is showing ranking for US location but not visible nywhere in US google.com

what can be the reason or is ther ny suggestion to get ranking for a particular country.. I am submitting his site to all the local directory of US..if there is ny other way thn plz suggest

Set the geographic location to US by inserting gl=us& in your google search query after an "&" sign (or perhaps at the last, not so sure). Try and you will see the US specific results.

To be precise, it works this way. For example, i have a keyword "caterer search" and the query goes this way.


http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=active&gl=us&q=caterer+search&btnG=Search

Thnks for ur suggestion but i hv chkd keyword ranking after inserting &gl=us in my query nd keywords were not ranking nywhere... what is the reason tht the keyword tht google webmaster shows ranking for US is not in search enging and ny other suggestion to get ranking for US

That clearly shows what your client means to say. What you actually saw were the rankings which were coming up in the US and you were not found as your client said. Google webmaster does not shows you the latest results, they are a week old at least as far as i know.

Here i would also love to know if we can see a location specific result appearing in the Google webmasters tools. Anyone?

We can check the Google ranking for the specific location.

It can be viewed and checked by visiting

Statistics >> Top Search Query >> Can specify the Location

but it's limited with some important locations only.

Webmaster tools show old records and the scene can be different when checking it presently for any keyword.

The present ranking may be fluctuating.

So, it is never too up to the point means ranking differ sometime up and sometime down.

Please specify what's the ranking shown on webmaster tools??

Do check the Location specific and then global searches ranking and record any difference.
