Arrow Keyword in sub-domain vs keyword in domain

For example if I have the domain: Gadgets.com, I am trying to optimize to rank first for the term "Best Gadgets". Should I make a page at gadgets.com/best or is it better to make a sub-domain at best.gadgets.com?

Don't bother about keywords in URL because this is one of the several search engine ranking factor but not as major as backlinks and content are.

Main domain will give you much better results than subdomain. Both can work well but the main things are content, proper on page and off page optimization.
