Question Keyword density & Google PR

Okay a few questions for anyone that can assist me.

    1) Keyword density, I use this tool www.keyworddensity.com what % am I looking at, the total % or the individual categories?

    2) What % should I be aiming for on my webpages for optimised keywords?

    3) Does Google give give preference on keywords in a link, or keywords as plain text?

    4) The update Brandy (or algo change, whatever you want to call it!) appears to be settled on .com from the 64.xxx data center, do you agree? Has the PR and backlinks been factored in yet?

    5) If you have dropped places for specific keywords what would be the first thing you would do to improve this, improve backlinks with the anchor text being this keyword, or improving the keyword density or onsite SEO etc?

Ok question time over.. first to answer all five gets a

    Cheers

I really want the icecream cone!

    1. Change to search engine specific and look at the result in total for an easier analysis.

    2. I go for around 15%-20% - but I do have some at higher %s and it doesn't seem to matter [remember that in normal sentences, that is a high %, but I try to make it a sensible sentence]

    3.Preference is to link

4.It is the 64 datacentre [GG said so!] and all my tracking - watching my serps sitting in there high, but elsewhere crap, for a whole week has finally arrived as at yesterday. All the factors seem to be there.

    5. All of those, they all run together - but your fastest is the individual page. Remember 65% of the original algo was factored to the page, only 35% to links, so, if I was in a race, I would back the 65% to win, wouldn't you?

Keyword density is not a big factor in Google.

I removed all mentions of the keywords on certain of my pages except in the meta description tag and they still rank.

    Anchor text is more important.

What you have top 10 rankings? Also, do you mean backlinks with anchor text or links within your own website?

Okay, forget Google for a second, what about Yahoo, Inktomi, etc etc do they rely on keyword density?

2% isn't enough for general use. How does google know your page is really about that? You probably have dozens of other terms in the 2% range. You should get at least 5-6%

I wouldn't go above 15%, for the simple reason that it looks spammy and is not necessary.

u r too cute Dazzlin Donna...

Anyway; One of my site (that is PR6) has been hitted by two different PR4 sites, now i am #3 to #7 for my the most important KW, and my other KWs aswell.

Maybe, the PR and BL are not factored yet ( i dont think so but %1 possible)
Or, there are other important things link anchor text and themed links...
