Keyphrases should include geographic target area?
Hi all,
I have a b&b in Herefordshire and was wondering whether my meta keyphrases (yeah yeah, I know this isn't v important these days) should all include the geographic area (in this case Herefordshire) I am aiming to move up the rankings for - e.g. 'hotel herefordshire, 'short breaks herefordshire,' etc. or is it OK to separate off the county like this 'hotel, short breaks, romantic breaks, herefordshire,'
Regarding the keyphrases used in the body copy - should I write, e.g., Welcome to Caerhys B&B Herefordshire' or can I leave any mention of Herefordshire to later on in the body copy?]
Also, do I need to use capitals for place names, etc., in keywords / phrases, or doesn't that matter?
Cheers, Zarmen

It is definitely worth including the location in the title element. Beyond that, I would suggest including in the copy and headings if it reads naturally and does not come across as spammy.
Capitals will not make any difference other than looking like spam.
You also refer to 'Meta Keyphrases'. Do you mean Meta Keywords, Meta Description of both? If it's Meta Keywords, it's not worth spending any time focussing on this as it will have no effect on your ranking.

Thanks David - RE: the body copy - say I'm looking to rank well for "B&B Herefordshire" search term, should I try and match that specific search phrase I'm targeting in the body copy, or doesn't that matter? - e.g. is 'Caerhys B&B Herefordshire' better than 'Caerhys B&B in a wonderful part of Herefordshire'

Well definitely ignore the Meta Keywords which won't do you any good as far as Google is concerned.
The Meta Description, is often what will appear on the SERPs page so make sure it's a clear and proper written description and not a list of spam and keywords.

I believe you are satisfied with the above answers. However, when you want to rank for your keywords and if you are looking to do something with those keywords on your website, think about the USER's/your customers view and optimize your content accordingly!
