Just dramatically dropped in Google - No idea!!
Hi All,
Slightly panicing as this is our business site. We were nearly top with all our key word searches and overnight we have dropped out of the either and appear a few pages back on all searches!!
Any ideas... has Google performed some big update overnight?

Should a website appear on all data centres?? I checked and we're not on all of them!!
Interestingly... when my wife checks the same search at work - we're still back ontop! Is this just a mater of time before hers refreshes and we drop off or what??

Hi Pudders, I had the same thing happen to my business site last Sunday. I posted here about it here
I was the same as you and went into panic mode, however I sat it out, changed nothing on my site, my ranks returned on Wednesday. I had friends check our ranks on their machines and all said we were still showing page 1. I think it was down to the data center that was feeding the info to me. Sit it out, your ranks should return bud.

I hate not being in control where you can make a change and it will happen on the fly!!
I mean... our main keyword search for the business was top on Google as were nearly all others (position 1,4,5,6 etc). Being dropped to pages 2,3,4,5 & 6 is not good!! I have noticed a few other competitors drop also.
It now means I either wait (ahhhhhh) or drive myself mad by trying to improve on my little knowledge of SEO skills.

I don't ask for much in life!!
Imagine my face when I ran the rankings last Sunday. One page 1 ranking, dropped 555 positions to page 56! There is nothing else you can do apart from check the ranks daily and wait it out.
pm me your website and I'll see what ranks it shows from this end.
