Is my site indexed
Hi when i type into google my website, e.g
domainname. co. uk it doesnt show up, instead what shows up is a domain name which should be redirecting to the .co.uk, so example instead of domainname. co .uk showing, domain-name . com appears. How can i rectify this? |

Who else would search that way? No body, right? So what does it matter?
But the proper way to find out if your site is indexed is to do a site: search. Search google for site:www.yourdomian.co.uk or site:yourdomain.co.uk Last edited by Swirleigh : July 11th, 2008 at 01:57 PM. |

What type of redirect do you use from the .com to the .co.uk ?
You should use a 301 redirect if you want the .co.uk to be indexed. Jean-Luc

Is this a new domain? Does it have any links pointing at it other than the one redirecting to it?
Get some inbound links. |

Try also to build more targeted backlinks as they would also help you draw targeted visitors overtime.

Thanks for your responses guys, there isnt a chance that my site has been banned is there because when i hover over the pagerank tool it says "No pagerank information available". All i have up on the site right now is a holding page. |

Hi, i went to google today and typed in the domain name, usually the .com version of my site shows up even when the .co.uk doesnt show up, however today this didnt happen. Does anyone know what may be the cause of this, i went in to my webmaster tools and there is a http error which has been there for quite a while the error is "4xx error?". Is this the cause of it?

This definately sounds like a redirect problem.
Use this Redirect Checking Tool to get the server response code to see if it is search engine friendly. It also sounds like Google may have crawled this site when there was an error. If you post a URL and the Google search URLs you are seeing this on we can provide a more definitive answer.

The 'no pagerank information available' is usually displayed for new sites. It does not mean your site has been banned
Do some article marketing and directory submissions Should get your site indexed faster |

So you mean domain.com is redirect to domain.co.uk so it means that your main site is domain.com Am I right? Please let us know so that we can answer if what's happening with your site.
