Is it still going?

Hi everyone.

Just wondered what everyone's opinion was re: the dance. Do you think it's now stopped or are you still seeing signs of it? Quite a few of my sites have totally disappeared from the Index (some big-hitters) and others have been added for the first time over the weekend. I just wondered if the ones that have been dumped may still reappear or whether I'll need to act and wait another month.

Cheers, Dave

on occasion google will crawl a site more than once a month, with an alternate spider, results of this are included for sites that change content constantly, another reason might be that there was a penalty given to sites that were dropped, ei someone reported you for spamming or something along that line

Spamming, never! D

I think I may know why some of my sites have been dropped, I just wondered how long it might be before the next index or whether it was still going...

On an aside, do you know what a Page Rank of 0/0 signifies if anything. Does anyone know (for sure) whether is signifies penalty or just maybe a fledgling site with no inward links?

Cheers, Dave.

dance not over yet

I watch the dance fairly closely and am fairly sure that it is not over just yet. I'm seeing different results in www, www2, and www3. I can usually tell the difference between everflux/freshbot results and dance.

Just to clarify at this point guys, the dance is over for this month..
Excuse my recent absentness .. things are getting a little busy and I'm away from my office, so it's harded to get time to post to the forum!!

Yep the dance is over, but the changes are always coming, so don't feel ike you should dissappear for a month, lets keep posting and maybe we can find out what changes (if any) seem to have been made to the Google algo this time around!!

yes, the dance is over, but we can always make changes and see results (not PR) made by freshbots.

I'd like to know over how many sites you check to see if the dance is over...

What I mean is do you just look at the total numbers on the servers? Do you look how your own sites are listed? On what basis can you state the the dance is over, and that's just the freshbot????

I have a fair few sites and have just started to monitor a couple of them for google hits... etc... In your opinion what should I be looking at to see if the google bot is the main one or not or on a deep or shallow spider etc... Also if I get hit by any spider fresh / deep / whatever, do the listings change on the engine... if so how is this different, if google spiders and then lists it's findings does it matter if it's the main crawl or not. I know that there is some major updating, but if you are being hi once every couple of days, who new can the index get, surely it can only apply the same results - No?
