Is it possible to get top 5 rank in Google for new site?

I am doing SEO for website which is 9 months old. I got some good results to my keywords by doing SEO in 3 months. I ranked those keywords in top 20 in Google but after that from last month i have not seeing any improvement in ranking even keywords of site are loosing 2 to 3 spot down in ranking.
i want them in Top5. Is it possible for 9 months old site to come in top 5 and if yes then approximately how time it will take to get in top 5.

Age of a site can have effects on rank-ability. However, your question is extremely variable. The length of time it takes to get any site, old or new, into the top 10 (let alone the top 5) depends on a number of factors. My advice before tackling any keyword is to research your competitors and check out the competition levels.

Depending on the keyword it could be harder work, but certainly very achievable.

Arrow Effects of Age on websites

My opinion is that age of site is not a big issue but if you want your website will be in top 5 on google then you must need to do more efforts. As we all know google trust on an old website and an old website have more backlinks, that’s why, it ranked before a new website. So for a new website it’s difficult to be in top 5 on google but not impossible.

Hi,

First and most important thing is that age of the website doesn't matters. What matters is the content at your site and the quality of backlinks that you get from other site.

I know that for getting your website in Rank you might be doing a lot of process., but remember if you want t ohelp yourself then find some do-follow link and with some better quality of answers.

Thank You

Remember that those sites that are currently in the top 5 didn't get their by accident. Some may just be old with some great content.

But if you are working on your sites SEO the odds are that your top 5 competition has somebody working on their sites as well all trying to be number 1.

So at this point it's no longer about doing SEO it's about beating your SEO competition. Study their sites see what they are doing well and try to do similiar.

As other posters have said you can also branch off into other long tail searches.

First off you should check the keyword competition before choosing a keyword, do not focus on the amount of time it will take for your site to achieve top 5 ranking instead make sure you are doing the right seo techniques that can enable it. Create backlinks from high pr sites and drive more traffic to your site.

Age of your site has almost nothing to do with rankings, in my opinion.

The fact your site is 9 months old is not causal. IT'S CORRELATED.

If your competitors have been around longer, they've had more time to get linked to, to build out their content and to get spidered/crawled.

Stop asking if your site is OLD enough, start asking if your site is WELL LINKED TO enough.

I got a domain ranking in the top 5 for a query in less than 48 hours, so 9 months is absolutely not an issue.

What kind of a site do you have, & what were your SEO strategies so far? Though you have a new site, but with a proper SEO plan, it is possible. If you please share your targeted keywords & the kind of site you have, then I can suggest you a good SEO strategy. The strategy is always different for different sites. Your site has to be SEO friendly, & a good SEO plan also includes off page SEO such as directory submission, article submission, blog postings, document postings, PR & also blog commenting with your targeted keyword linked with your site. These off page works are done to get more & more back links for your site. How much off page work you have to do will depend on the competition of your targeted key words.

In order to rank in the top 5, so many factors come into play.
First of all you should always check the competition and how strong they are. Do are quick research with Open Search Explorer and check what their Domain Authorities are and the amount of links they have. If there is a huge difference between them and your site, that would be the reason why you aren't ranking at the top. Also, check what methods you are currently using/used for link building, obviously if you aren't ranking higher and higher, there is obviously something wrong you are doing.

They key to excellent linkbuilding is variety, don't just do directory submissions, blog commenting etc., do little bits of everything. Hope that helps.

Anything is possible when doing SEO. If you work hard, then you'll be rewarded. Keep building good quality links to your website and you will see results. Maybe see if you can gain some high PR homepage backlinks, you will no doubt need to pay for them though.

My site is only six months old and I am on page one (not in the US) but still among reasonable competition.

YOu will find that if google keywords gives your main keyword a large volume and high adwords competition, then you will probably have very high organic search competition.

Find the links that are going to your competitors and replicate or find better ones. at this stage many people go buy something like market samurai to find out the volume and quality of the links that the top sites have so you can understand what kind of effort you will have to do going forward, or if you need to adjust your sites on a lower volume keyword... Good luck

If you want to increase page rank so, do work off page activities in Dofollow website and increase your Google quality back link, after that you get better result with your website.

But it takes some time.
