Can someone please who also possibly knows photoshop tell me if itís beeter to name and tag and meta description my images in photoshop? Or should I just title - alt tag - description them on yoast plugin.

I am getting confused with the best way to name my images to optimize. And I am redoing my site right now so this would be a great time to discover the best way to name images

I had previously been told each image should be

Raleigh newborn photographer | Nicola lane photography | Raleigh Newborn photographer | Maternity | Family |child photography

Clearly this changed with newborn - maternity or child.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you 

I use Photoshop (CS2) for editing. I use Bridge to add my info (name, address, website, copyright etc). The image name is usually "location-date-number' i.e. "yosemite-012418-01.jpg". I upload them into my WordPress and they are already have Title, Description and Caption. I add the alt tag after. I describe the image. I don't stuff keywords.

I don't have Lightroom as most Photographers, but I'm pretty sure they have a spot for alt tags so you don't have to add them after uploaded.

I sell my photos so I make sure the words/keywords are accurate. You aren't trying to sell the photos, so I wouldn't be as critical.

I am not sure if Photoshop can help with adding alt tags and the such. I always thought you would need to add that info on HTML on the actual page.

However, I would recommend this article by Yoast that explains how to optimise your images and why.
