Welcome to the forums yo! Bad idea, no, worse than bad. Build out 1 great website that presents you as an authority in your industry. Promote with exciting industry related news and a few naturally appearing high quality links here and there.
Do not build super crappy websites, ever, for any reason

Pardon my ignorance on the subject, but the way I am thinking about implementing it is by creating a four sites on four different servers.
The .com will be the main site where the content resides. The other TLDs will have a blank page with nothing but:

Thanks for the welcome...I have been a voyeur for some time.
So, what I am asking is what should I do with the other TLDs?
Should I just 301 them?
btw, I am not looking to build crappy websites, I am trying to figure out the best SEO way to redirect the traffic.

Looks more like spam to me being as he quoted Panic's advice not to do this and then kind of had nothing to do with it.
I think redirect is your best option, or maybe you could make some sister sites or a related topic to try and cover all areas of your niche? But this depends on your niche.
Am I right in saying your domains are new (I read it as you just register them all right?) if so I wouldn't thing the redirects would give much help as the domains are new and have no weight in the search engines yet true? That's why IMO I would try to find a use for them in something to do with the same niche so they can all bring you some traffic and then maybe redirect them once they have a little weight if they don't work out on there own.

Parking all of the domains to your main site is generally the best advice, but in theory you could use differrent TLDs to track your advertising efforts in some non-that-easily-trackable sources, like TV, radio, offline magazines etc. This way you can run a promo and give, for example, your .net TLD as your main URL. Then, you will be able to see how many visitors have come to .net and split this part of your visits from other traffic - thus you can see how effective your advertising was.
Though, I'm not sure if your budget bears TV or radio advertising
