Well the value of that link all depends on its relevancy, authority and value. If it is related to your site and the link is not on a links page it will likely have very good value. If the site is unrelated and/or is on a links page the value will not be as high. But keeping working at it and before you know it you will have thousands of those little buggers

to answer your question.

A PR 4 link on its own should give you a pr 2 in the course of time, it will get your site into the google index, and will be a useful link.

As first links go that is a relativley good one.

However there is alot more ot SEO than PR, but good start keep going.

PR4 will not eventually get you a pr2. The 'bleed' effect is dependent upon the number of outbound links on that specific page.

The more outbound links on the page the less it will bleed.

Also, the bleed effect will not effect your PR4... Only backlinks will effect your PR of any given page. With each outgoing link from a page, the amount of "link juice" given to the linked to page diminishes because the link juice is shared between the total number of outgoing links.
