How to move y site up in google and other engines

Hi all,
I'm new to the list and to SEO. Can anyone have a look at my site and help me better understand what it is that I need to be doing to move my site up? My site is barks and bones.

Thanks,
Tim

Red face h1 tags

Hey there all,
I am new to this message board so give me grace if I am posting in wrong place. Can anyone answer this question. There is a website that has added h1 tag at the beginning of the <body tag and it looks like this:

<noscript>
<h1>Faux Painting - Faux Painting Technique - Faux Finish Painting</h1>
<p><b><a href="xxxxx">Faux painting, faux painting technique, and faux finish painting tips</a></b> provided by Behr.</p>
<p><b><a href="xxxxxx">Behr Paint - Wood Stain</a></b></p>
</noscript>

Is this wrong or considered tricking the SE or can I do the same thing on my site? I read where someone on this site said that the SE will index <no script> tags and what I did on mine was just add 2 hyperlinks. Adding it another way is so much more work when I have 40 pages and each title is different and in a different place on the page. Any help is appreciated. I have submitted the same question on Google webmaster message boards 3 times and no one has given me the answer.

God bless,
Sandy

Red face h1 tags

Dear Steve,
Thank you for taking time to answer my question. I am aware of back links and have many as I have written articles and am listed on a lot of art and painting directories.

I am specifically looking to get the answer to my question about the h1 tags. The way the other site set up theirs was in between <no script> tag as I sent the example (without the url). I read where SEs do index the <no script tag> and someone on this site asked the same question and when their site was checked, they had upteem links included. I only have 2 inner links included and I can eliminate them if I should not have them. If these 2 sites have added the h1 tag at the beginning of the <body and Google has not said anything, is it a correct way to add the h1 tag? I have Javascript, too, so I want to take advantage of making sure that the 10% who don't have Java enabled on their browser (as I had) can see the title.

The other way is to add something like this:

<div class="paragraph Body" style="line-height: 18px; margin-bottom:
0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding-
bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0pt; text-align: center; text-indent:
0px;"><h1 style="color: #884323; font-family: 'HoeflerText-Black',
'Hoefler Text', 'Times New Roman', 'serif'; font-size: 18px; font-
style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: bold; letter-
spacing: 0; line-height: 18px; opacity: 1.00; text-decoration: none;
text-transform: none;">Faux Finish Painting: Tools, Supplies,
Articles, Faux Painting Services and Murals.</h1></div>

The second way is so much more work, especially if I have to adjust 40 pages. My web program doesn't add the tags, I have to add them manually.

Your help is greatly appreciated.
God bless.
