Possibly better content and better quality inbound links. Hope that helps.

their is trusted rank too...if he has a lot more quality pages and have been around longer he doesn't need as many links. Also it isn't the number of links you have it's the quality of links you have as well. One really good link can be as effective as a 1000.

Sorry if I wasn't clear.
Trusted rank is: * a lot more quality pages * has been around longer Trusted rank is a site wide page rank. ie if you have proven you can be trusted by google they will be willing to give out more pr to you then other sites. |

dont know what you mean by PR... lol thats link value, google cannot give you link value it can only give a value to the links you have which they will not change. It all depends on the webiste linking to you, as you said previously though if you get quality links these will count immensly more then directory or footer links/exchanges. Mid content links to a website due to their relevancy is the way to go. just do some link bait, try to do something unique in your field which other websites would link to. or of course you can buy these links but i perfer the first way! much more honourable! |

Did anyone from the above look into this deeper? I see only very confused advices not answering the question.
The thruth is that they got better links, better in terms of PR, trust rank mainly from unrelated homepages. That should trigger some investigation (done in 5 minutes). The site uses some shady things! They have many domains redirected to the same, recently to: www.realtysoft.com. I bet they change it from time to time. They seem to have kind of a deal with www.idcounter.com, which is a "free" hit counter for websites. Websites which use this counter get a code like this: <noscript> <a href="http://www.idcounter.com/"> <img border=0 hspace=0 vspace=0 src="http://www.idcounter.com/counter.php?a=tybi"></a></noscript> <div id="MyLink"><A HREF='http://www.realtysoft.com' style='font-size: 1pt; color: silver'>real estate website design</A><A HREF='http://www.realtysoft.com'><img border='0' src='http://www.idcounter.com/images/phone_cards_calling_cards.gif' alt='real estate website design'></A></p></div> <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript" src="http://www.idcounter.com/statcount.js"></SCRIPT> BTW. The users are not informed about the hidden sponzor links and as you can see many of them don't check the code for things like this. The links can't be seen because the font-size is set up to 1pt, nor Google can see this technique because they don't follow CSS that much. Actually, Google say they do, but as you see they don't. If it is your competitor, I bet a report to Google is appropriate. Cheers, tybi Last edited by tybi : August 2nd, 2007 at 12:12 PM. |

Your welcome! I have a similar problem with one competitor who is sponsoring a Joomla upgrade which makes the URLs "search engine friendly" but also puts hidden links to the sponsor. But at least the users are informed with tiny text. In your case the users are not even informed which is the terrible thing about it. Matt Cutts told me on his blog to report them, but so far nothing has changed. It's just a different way to pay for links. |
