How much will this help

Most of the links that I aquire for my site are from blogs in my industry. There are a handful of blogs with high PR and lots of authority.

Each month, these blogs will write a post or two that contains a link(s) to my site. Most times it is directly to the home page. Sometimes to internal pages.

The question is, does each new link pointing at the homepage have less and less value? I've read some articles where people have aquired sitewide links, and people say that that is no better than just one link. Or is this different because where my link appears on each page is very different as well as the content around it.

Obviously new links pointing at different internal pages is great.

Thoughts?

I think as long as its in Blog entry which have a Permalink the links are useful because these are single pages. It will bring you Linkpop but not domainpop.
Nevertheless in my eyes each link is a link but if you have the chance to tell the authors (or if its you) to put the links to internal sites than do it.

Well this is really a controversial question some people think sitewide links are better as they have a better chances of driving traffic and some think sitewide links are not good at all.
