How fast can a new domain get ranked in the top 10 in Google for major terms?

My personal record is just 10 days! It was using a SEO forum system that I have developed with an SEO expert partner from Spain. Upon registering a new domain and posting one link on an other forum the websites got ranked in the top 3 within just 10 days.

My partner obtained a PR 6 ranking in just 1 month with several of his test forums/websites.

So as it seems there does not have to be a sandbox or anything and you could be included in the index within a week if Google is sure about the quality of your website.

You could be included within days if you have a good link pointing to your website. Am not sure about the PR6 in just a month, that might be due of over optimization.

Posting your link in signature forums isn't much of an SEO system. ;)

So, I'm "assuming" this was 1 month prior to a Pagerank update, cause if it wasn't how did your site achieve a Pagerank value with a visable Pagerank update?

Indexing & Ranking are two seperate things, indexing is getting your web pages inserted into the index. Ranking is getting your web pages to show up for specific keywords and phrases.

My partner registered a new domain and installed the SEO forum and performed some minor marketing for it and within just 1/1.5 months the website obtained a PR6 ranking and of course the top rankings/traffic from Google because of it.

My own test forums got ranked in the top 10 in Google for keywords like "dog training" within just 10 days.

Dog Training is not a major keyword.. sorry, but it just isn't.

On the topic of ranking a new site, you will find that any site that is brand new you'll get a boost initially in your ranking position, the "new site boost" effect.

Lightbulb

PR 6 in 1 month, is possible only when the website is uploaded 1 months before the PR update. The reason behind a good PR may be some valuable backlinks created by paid links within that month. This PR 6 is just a coincident due to the time matched with PR update.

The boost in traffic for a new domain may be only a few days guest. My 2 months new site is also drawing good traffic.

Well, I consider it to be a major keyword in a non-major niche, but why shouldn't this rule aply to the major keywords of major niches aswell? It will just be a lot harder to beat the competition in content/service quality then (and to get Google to notice it).

The forums grew in time, so the results weren't temporary and my partner started with 4 test forums and they all received a PR5-6 within 1/1.5 months and they are still growing after almost 2 years now.

Hi,
It depends upon search engine optimization and competition rate both.

10 days is great! I would like to know which niches you promoted...
