How do prevent Google from showing information from a deleted file?

Will by deleting a file prevent Google from properly spidering your site?

If the page is already spidered/indexed by Google, you will need to send them a request to remove the page from the index.

If you are asking in general, you can use either robots.txt or:
    Code:
    < META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX,FOLLOW" >
If you use robots.txt to disallow a directory containing (just?) the page, be sure that all pages linked to from that page are also linked from other pages (like a site map) and the spider should find them.
