Yes, absolutely you can kick them by reporting this to Google. You can report to Google with this contact form. http://www.google.com/contact/spamreport.html

Just give them relevant details and thats it.

Well, Hemlata, there really isn't much you can do about someone else's ranking in the SERPs even if that person is libeling you. If it's within legal jurisdiction though, you can maybe sue whoever has posted the article and get a cease-and-desist order from a court of law.

As far as I know, this is the ONLY place you can report a site to Google: http://www.google.com/contact/spamreport.html but it clearly states that you can only report spam sites. So I don't think Google will handle your complaint at all.

If you ask me, the battle isn't going to be worth it; you'll probably have to spend a lot of money and I think it can be better spent on your own SEO. This way, you can try to outrank the other person in the SERPs.

Check this for instance: http://www.google.com/search?q=paypal

If you search for paypal in Google, one of the top ten results is paypalsucks.com. It's a site dedicated to "exposing the truth" about PP. PayPal has tried lots of different legal approaches but haven't been able to do squat about that site. So, again, the battle isn't going to be worth it.

It depends. hlsgr can try but without looking at his site and the site that he says is libeling him, it's impossible to say if Google will do anything about it. If you could get a site delisted that easily, don't you think PayPal would've gotten paypalsucks.com out of the index a long time ago?

Anyway, it's worth a try, hlsgr but don't bet your life on it As I've said, move on and try to outrank the libeler.

Ask him why he is so reluctant to remove that post. Listen to him and then carefully put your points. Reporting to google will not help in this case.

I used to work for a large company which had the same problem. There solution was to create various other company blogs and company sites in an effort to push the libellous site(s) out of the top ten.

What kind of page is it that they have posted? Are you allowed to comment on it? If so then you definitely should, try and turn the bad publicity around? Which is easier said than done!

Do you mean the he has written a bad review about your website, regardless of what he has done that is what the call reputation management, as you said you need to outrank him and that is the best that you can do ... you can use social media profiles to help you in that

my assumption: Your website is new.

my assumption again: It will not last long.

Action: Wait and sleep well
