Hosting Country Affects on G. Rankings

    I need some technical advice.

Our website is currently hosted in the US however, this is going to be moved to a UK host.

Will this move affect our current US Google search positions? Will Google think or give greater priority to UK searches even though we wish to maintain our US positions?

    Thanks

Moving hosting to the UK should effect your rankings on google.com. It may boost your rankings on google.co.uk though.

    Hmm,

    Don't entirely agree here.
We moved our site from the US to the UK around 7 weeks ago and the positions are worse on "results from the UK only", this seems to be a problem at the moment and yes we do have aco.uk domain.

It carries some weight but in my experience getting geotargetted links has the greatest effect.....

Well it only matters if you are targetting the specific datacenters of a country.

Right, but results from google.co.uk can be completely different from google.com even without the "pages from UK only" option selected. This is especially true for UK centric search terms.

The results from "pages from UK only" option seem fairly eccentric at present, I don't know why.
