    Help With My Website

Hi all, I've done very basic SEO myself for many years. The key words I have optimised have not been that competitive before so I have enjoyed good results on Google.

However, recently for the term Car Recovery Birmingham, I am often below another website called carrecoverybirmingham. With the exception of the URL and keyword spamming, I am not entirely sure why it should be above my company website, which has a much bigger structure and more links as well as relevant content (all IMO).

Could do with some pointers if possible. Looking at this competitor's website, maybe I should just spam the key term?

    Hi guys,

The site is - www . beechesrecovery . co .uk

When I search it isn't always top, the company called www.carrecoverybirmingham . com is sometimes there too. To be honest, the search results seem to vary considerably.

First of all your website looks better than your competitor. you should continue with what you are doing. keep building link using keywords (not exact one but passively relevant like "Car recovery in Birmingham UK" you may use the broad one as well - "Car recovery") related to "Car Recovery Birmingham". keep building relevancy to your website.

    EDIT:
Your website closely compete with the beechesrecovery hence you are seeing ranking variation very often.

This may be nothing more than the famous Google Dance.

If it is just oscillating between 1 and 2 I really wouldn't worry about it.

If it worries you, aquire a few good backlinks, that will fix the issue I would think, be sure the links target the keyword in the anchor text.

No. It's not a Google Dance. Do you know what the "Google Dance" was? I would catch up on SEO History class 101:

How about asking a question? OP, if you want to step ahead of your competition I suggest do smart link building. Assuming you want to rank for UK Google, I would go out and find a couple decent UK links to toss up. Do 2-3 at a time, let them index for a couple weeks and see if that doesn't push you above your competition.

    You're welcome.

Use DMOZ and your competition as a start when doing link research ;-)

Hi all, still not happy with the lack of success for keyword term "car recovery Birmingham".

    /Recovery-Service.html

Google appears to have indexed this page as opposed to my homepage. Any particular reason why this would be the case? Do I need to therefore find links for this page as opposed to the main URL?

Previously, I always was the top result for this search term now one directory and one competitor already mentioned are usually ahead of me.

    Thanks

I've just changed the META tags for this page as it appears that Google is placing some emphasis on this?
