Have i indexed only for yahoo?

Just checked this page www(dot)checkmypr(dot)com

and they came up with these results

Now my main concern is it came up that our PR was 0! but were coming up on yahoo first page for health and safety signs.... im thinking that the reason why we are showing up on the 1st page is due to the amoung of indexed pages we have on yahoo.

My question is if we have more indexed pages on google why arent they backlinks to them?

Frst of all, don't confuse PR with "serps" position (rankings) - the two are loosely connected within Google but PR has no connection with Yahoo/MSN.

There are many possibl reasons why your PR is currently 0 (for any given page); the most likely is the age of the page/site/links.

The number of indexed pages for a website has no direct connection to the rankings (SERPS) for that site.

The tool you are using is checking Google for listed backlinks using the "link:www.domain.com" method, which is entirely pointless as Google only returns a random sample of your backlinks using this method... Yahoo backlinks figures are much more comprehensive.

The methods used by Googe and Yahoo to rank websites are (nowadays) completely different, so you can't gain anything useful by wondering about differences in your rankings.

In short - what this tool is really telling you - is:
You have approximately 480 backlinks (of undetermined quality).
Google have more of your pages indexed than Yahoo.
At the last (toolbar/public) PR update - Google awarded the page PR0 (which is really PR0-1 and is also based on a snapshot of your links position taken sometime in the last 5 months)!

You can type in to google or yahoo search boxes

to view your links like this tool does. Google always shows a sample not all your links. Yahoo shows more. Create a google webmaster tools account to see a more comprehensive list.

The term PR is a google only thing. You can install the google tool bar to view this for any site you browse to.

Google only updates the PR it shows to the public about once every 4 months. You may have a pr boost coming. It will be doing you good now if this is the case depending on how much you trust PR as a determinant.
