Have good rankings on Google in my country but not in the US
I'm building links for one of my websites and today I was checking my rankings and I noticed that if I search on Google.com in my country (Slovakia), I'm on the first page on Google (when I do searches I'm logged out of my Google account). However, when I searched on Google.com using a US proxy, my ranking is a little worse there - I'm on the 3rd page there (I also checked my position in the US using a free rank tool and it shows me on the 3rd page, too).
I wonder why the search is different in the US than in my country? And can I now expect that the rankings will be the same in the US soon like they are in my country now?

Rankings are provided to be the most relevant to the searcher, so it is likely that your site is more closely aligned to your geographic region. This is perfectly normal.
Links from lots of US sites will make your site rank higher in the US.
You can not expect that the rankings will be the same in the US as they are in your country now.

He did say he was logged out. Personalized or not, if you are in a different location you will see different results.

first of all Google results used to be different from different Geo Locations. When you build links, always consider global targeted audience if you want to rank your website in Google.com. you link profile should have more diversified link from the global websites rather than local Slovakia region IMO.
As soon as you have the relevant link juice, you'll start ranking on Google US as well.

I've been logged out, searched a term on page wash and get personal results, until I clear cookies and history. Googles personal results doesn't just rely on being logged in anymore or a different location...A different computer..yes.

Well U.S. has always been a huge business hub and center of all the activities, if you want to be on top rankings in U.S. then you surely need to work exceptionally well in social media and on both On - Page and Off Page respectively, as companies are spending thousands of dollars every month to retain their top ten rankings in Google Search Engine for U.S. So you need to do that too! But never ever go with Black hat tactics, as sooner or later you will be going down big time!

Ranking depends on many factors.. like,
- Your geographic domain extension
- Your server location
- Backlinks you are getting
Google’s bot are intelligent enough to judge the user’s requirement... If it believes your website is more suitable for users in your country than in US, it will rank high in your country.
You need to employ local optimization techniques to get ranked in google.uk. Here’s some help:
- Add your website to local search engines
- Add your website to local directories
- Get listed on Google places, bing local search and Yahoo! local
- Get listed on local classified websites
- Get backlinks from target country
- Get active on niche related communities which are popular in your country
- Get citations for your listings

Depending on your business, that may be a good thing. If you're specifically targeting a customer base in Slovakia, you're exactly where you want to be. If you're trying to aim for a global customer base, then you would probably want to aim for being ranked on Google.com.
