google showing updated backlinks (false alarm, sorry guys)

I'm seeing new backlinks for my site when using the following commands:

link: domain.com (note, one space before domain.com)

What's this. Toolbar as well as link-command without space show old backlink data.

I think thats not backlinks, thats only pages which have youre domainname in text and the Word "link" Because there are sites with only Text and no Link to me and the show up!

Must agree... I got links from those pages, which fooled me... Thanx for pointing thisone out!

PS. What happened to ":" character after link. Does google treat it as a wildcard?

    totally different results here...

    For my struggling site...
    when I do "link:www.permanentfaces.com" I only get 1 backlink :-(
when I do "link: www.permanentfaces.com" with a space between the colon and URL, I have 2 backlinks, but different from the 1 in the previous query :-S

when I use the backlink function in the google toolbar, I receive the same result as the first query :-(

Over the past 2 months I have obtained over 50 new PR4+ backlinks to this site and none of them show up!

Plus, pages that link to my site show up higher in the SERPs for my keywords than my site does!! This is so wrong! At least I'm getting some exposure here... when the first 10 listings for my keywords are all sites that link to mine.

    Tired of waiting for google...

First post in this forum, and a newbie at SEO.

The difference between the links with and without a blank represents the following (based upon my obsession with improving). When finding backlinks with without a blank, you get the sites that google actually includes as your link popularity - I think - only sites with a PR4 and higher. When you search for backlinks with the blank you are getting all sites regardless of their PR that google has indexed.

Remember I am new at this so some of my terms maybe very basic.

link: with a blank does show my PR3 and less backlinks, however it also has a PR6 backlink that I really wish would show up on on the link: without a space search.

    Welcome to the forum, Glenn.

With Google, dont think in terms of link popularity, but in terms of PR. Two different things. Also, sites dont have page rank. PR is page specific.

Google isnt showing every backlink, regardless of PR. At this point, no way to even know what PR is for a given page. Google hasnt updated links for months and the toolbar pr bar is meaningless at the moment.

Not necessarily true, when I search for link: mydomain.com (no space) it shows all the pages that I am linked to and not pages that have my domain as text

    one more funny thing.

All of the three below have different "number":
    1. link: domain.com (with a blank)
    2. link: www.domain.com (with a blank)
    3. link:www.domain.com (without a blank)

link:domain.com(wihtout blank) is same as link:www.domain.com(without blank)
