Google Shopping Analysis

Having noticed the advantages of being listed at the top of google shopping for my niche keywords i set about making my way to the top for two of my main keywords, a 2 word term and a 3 word term, both decent traffic.

For both these keywords the Google Shopping Results appear within the organic top 10 on normal google just after the first 2 results.

So you get:

1- website
2- website

five Google Shopping Results

3- Website
etc

So for both keyword terms my website already appears within the organic top 10 but obv it would be better to appear within the shopping results too.

So i have now made it to the top in Google Shopping but the results seem a bit mysterious.

For the 3 keyword term my website already ranks at number 1 & 2 on the organic results and i am now no.1 on Google Shopping also. However, despite being number 1 on Google shopping, Google often doesnt show me as number 1 when it shows the organic top 10.

e.g it shows

1 my website
2 my website

Then the 5 google shopping results minus my site. Sometimes it shows my site here as no.1 but more often that not its exlcuded.

Upon clicking Google Shopping tab for the term it still shows me as number one.

So its as if because i already rank within the organic top 10 it filters my site out? Opinions anyone?

Now for the 2 keyword term, which is much more competitive and higher taffic. My website currently ranks at number 7 and on Google shopping my listing fluctuates a little.

Here is what i have noticed. I am the only site that appears in the organic top 10 and the google shopping top 10.

Google was displaying 5 shopping results on the organic page whilst i was outside the top 5 on google shopping. When i moved up to 5th on google shopping. They started displaying only 4 google shopping results on the organic page. And then when i moved up to 4th on google shopping they started showing only 3 google shopping results.

When i moved back out the top 5 of google shopping, hey presto they started showing all 5 google shopping results again on the organic page. Soon as i move back in top 5 it cuts it down to keep me out.

Now call me paranoid but something clearly doesnt want me displayed within the google organic top 10 AND also feature on the page within the Google Shopping Results.

Put in alot of work to get there so a little disappointed. Pretty sure there is nothing wrong with my google shopping listing as it is happily displayed as a number 1 results for searches where i dont appear within the organic top 10.

Anyone else noticed this trend??? or shed any light on the sitaution??

WhiteHatSEOMktg agrees: Sorry I can't offer an answer, but an interesting question.
