Google is the most powerful search engine but Google is not perfect. You need to give Google a hand if you want your website to rank higher.

Start by making longer posts in your site to get Google rank.

Google loves big posts and the longer they are, the higher the keyword count, the higher your posts will rank on Google. Take the example of Wikipedia, Google loves Wikipedia because of:

1. Keyword count. Wikipedia has huge articles and Google counts high keyword count as a an information rich website.

2. Outgoing links. Google loves to know where are you getting your information from. Give credit where it is due and Google will verify if your information is valid or not.

3. Same domain links. Google cares if the reader will have links to surf more pages and read more information inside the same site. If your site does not contain enough links to pages under the same domain Google will not like it.

4. Keep Google happy with daily posts. I try to post hourly for the websites I care about. You should do the same.

5. Use another search engine. When you use Google all the time you become a Google head. I just started using Yahoo today to see which websites are ranking higher and why, so I can understand how it works too.

Well, to play devils advocate, indirectly, it actually can Quality sites and content get shared and linked, with doing so you could boost your PR indirectly by having good content others are linking to and viewing.

Remember, content can be anything, not just a compelling article. Great content can be a simple photoshopped image, a candid video, an old quote that trips up a politician, an iPhone app, a top 11 list, a rant, a wordpress plug-in. Use your imagination

OK we admit Google is the great one on high! Not with that said isn't it also true that we need to remember our customers or users that come to our websites. I know that I need to have good titles, alts, meta, good content, links in and out, and so on but did we forget why we started our website to begin with? Do we have something important to say? Is there some quality product or service we have to offer?

I'll be the first to admit I'm no expert with SEO tricks but that's intentional tricks don't work. Google, MSN, and Yahoo, made it to where they are because they are smart very smart and not likely to be fooled by foolish tricks.

So Riddle me this, why do so many webmasters still try even with the chance they will die.

I'll quote for this number 5 you posted. Since We all know that google gives us the results we need instead of other search engines out there. We don't have a choice but to use google if we find the services of other search engine not so helpful to us. But other search engines also have some advanges over google.

Contextual relevancy is very important, plus, take advantage of Google's partner site such as Picassa, Youtube among others.
