Google search results and traffic - any link?

    Hi

    I'm really confused about this

Do google search results have anything to do with the traffic on the website?

Sometimes I feel/read - when I get more traffic on the website through google, google feels that my site is more relevant for a particular keyword and gives it a better placing next time...

However, logically i dont think google should have anything to do with the number of hits etc

    Regards
    Maya

I would not sign it but I have the feeling as well.
I guess that like in AdWords the CTR plays a (minor) role maybe because Google can rate the attractivness of your result.
Its all very very hypothetic though.

Traffic of site little with depend on google ranking

Its my personal expierence that i have a site. And the client of that site reoptimized that one on some other specific keywords.
Before optmization client is satisfied with the traffic but after reoptimization the traffic is go down. Then when he got the ranking of his new keywords then he is happy with its ranking too

Traffic isn't only the factor that measures your SERP (keyword ranking). Your links on other sites count as well. And some other factors such as fresh contents, on-page optimization, etc. IMO ;)

Google can get data via the Google toolbar and other tools they offer to visitors and IMHO ( this is just a PURE assumption ), I think they use that data in the ranking algorithm.

I believe traffic ranks as well, but not as weighted as other factors like links and content.
