Just come across this
Knowledge ? Inside Search ? Google
Now first thoughts no more wiki, no more great content sites as Google is basically taking your content and building a knowledge base! I am not sure not what impact this will have on searches. Is this panel dynamic as it appears on the ppc ads section. Could this move into recommending companies from user behaviour in the future or is this their answer to the new facebook search that users could use to pull similar info from pages etc?

IMHO, social behavior is going to play a bigger and bigger role in search results. Not that this will overshadow seo at all, but it's good to take a step back and see how it's all going to work.

A little while back, Bing announced the first major update to their Bing search engine since it launched 4 years ago (microsoft article here).

And more recently Facebook has announced their own search engine called the Facebook Graph Search.

I believe this is what Google is getting at, or at least hinting at with this insight search.
