Google Sandbox Upadte ?
well just to report there may have just been some sort of Google update for releasing sites from the sandbox.
as I have 2 sites that Just came out of the sandbox at the same time 24th Nov
Funny thing is one site 7 months old and the other 4 months old, yet they both came out at EXACTLY the same time
So maybe to add to all the theories of the sandbox - this is my take from my recent experience
Sandbox is not just a time filter but more of a grading/points system and when you pass you will get released from sandbox when Google does there weekly/monthly/quarterly or whenever update
The grading/points system could be some criteria of link, quality, amount received within a time frame etc etc who knows
as I said before, it seems my 2 separate sites on separate hosting & IP came out on the "same day" - so it seems they both passed some sort of criteria and then got released
Both sites were in the same niche
What do you SEO gurus think ?

Dont know about your theory... But it does seem to be true peoples sites come out of sanbox at the same time. So your guess may be true.

I too noticed a change, but I'm a believer of sandboxing major keywords from the site rather than the sandboxing of sites themselves. It was a couple days ago too, around midnight in the UK.
Sites were already listed and easily found with popular strings but no show for the major keywords on their own. Now the sites can be found using just the major keywords alone.
I haven't had the experience of a site being totally sandboxed yet - if it even exists, that is? *touches wood*. Most sites get up there within a month or 2.

Might be true... actually, my site just got out of the "sandbox" a couple of days ago (may be 24th) for the term "poker"... and the site is only 2 months old!
But then I had to change domain.. you think I will keep my listings with my new domain when I use 301 redirect? Now both sites are listed... but my old domain will disappear soon, right? I dont like that both are listed because of duplicate content...

In one of his videos Matt Cutts states that whilst some Google factors such as PageRank are determined on a daily basis, others are calculated on weekly or on longer time periods. When these new values are released to the live datacentres it's referred to as a data push. It is likely that the sandbox is determined by one or more of these less frequently updated factors, hence the reason why lots of sites pop out at once.

Same thing happened to my site in the same time period. I would agree with macey on this one. My site was already getting some first page action for some very specific, long-tail type keywords but no where to be found within the top 500 for the major ones. Now all major keywords are in the first three pages. The site is about 8 months old.
